Was that a slur aimed at Humor-Impaired Americans?
That’s not the point...there is no liberal out there who could have stood in GW’s shoes for one minute of the last 8 years with the kind of treatment he got in the media. NOT ONE.
This is slightly off topic, but one of my favorite NBA highlight videos captures two NBA referees walking onto the court with white canes and dark sunglasses. It’s a classic from before the era of PC.
I guess I don’t understand how SNL or anyone can blame the mess in NYS on Patterson? I mean, I am as Conservative as they come, even for a NYS resident, but sheesh! The guy went to the legislature and said they had to make massive cuts in spending. The REPUBLICANS told him to go punt. What else is the guy to do?
Oh, c'mon. I haven't watched in years but I was curious to see Hugh Laurie, like the above poster, therefore I did catch a few skits. How could anyone not laugh at the Elizabeth Dole character telling the Blago character he was an embarassment to the state of Illinois and then backtracking as an afterthought that maybe he would be an embarassment to any "other" state? I definitely laughed at that.
I can just see it now.
He throws his hooker out of bed and says......
that’s it, I’ve seen enough!!!
>>DIDNT SEE
There was also controversy a few years ago when a group of the visually impaired complained about the cheap jokes about
someone VERY nearsighted showed up in a live action remake of
“Mr Magoo”

“At the opening general session of the 1997 convention of the National Federation of the Blind, delegates overwhelmingly passed Resolution 97-03, which called upon The Disney Company to stop production of the Magoo movie and urged the actors to have nothing more to do with the project. (See the August/September, 1997, issue for the complete text of the resolution.) The press swept down with open mikes and rolling cameras to demand explanations for our opposition to Mr. Magoo. Members stepped forward to talk about their own experiences as children and their fears for what today’s blind youngsters may be in for as a result of Magoo’s revival. “
>>Humor about blindness is not wrong unless it hurts. We in the National Federation of the Blind have as good a sense of humor as anybody. But we believe that there is a difference between a good joke and a put-down. For example, the story of the blind person who goes to the store with a guide dog comes to mind. After entering, the blind person picks up the dog by the tail and swings it in a circle. When the manager asks, “What are you doing?” and “May I help you?” the blind person responds, “No thanks, I’m just looking around.” This is not offensive because it can’t injure anybody. But Magoo is offensive because he represents a false image of blindness. When he can see, he gets things done. When he cannot see, he makes errors and is incompetent. Blind people are not like that.
>>because it cant injure anybody
er, what about the dog being picked up by its tail? ... :)
Well, DUH!!!!
Reminds me of the saying " 'I see' said the blind man to the deaf and dumb'!
Gov. Paterson has been doing some REALLY conservative things lately- that is why he is getting grief.
He is actually CUTTING SPENDING (not just a smaller growth than they want - actual CUTS)
This is pissing off the unions who are advertising against him.
As a Democrat, he is almost a DINO (democrat in name only) ad far as fiscal responsibility is concerned
So much so that I might actually VOTE FOR HIM if he keeps it up. He has acted more like a republican then the last ACTUAL RINO we had. (What’s his name again? I can’t remember him either)
Great story!
Now that’s just not right!
...but funny.

I understand your point and didn’t mean to offend you, I wasn’t defending the POS I was making a small statement that SNL isn’t funny. For the 1.5 hours that this show is on, it has maybe 2 minutes of laughs.
