I’m not angry. I think there are plenty of places in France where good conservative families are preserving their culture as well. I’ve met some folks that came from there and it’s a constant reminder in many aspects even here.
You have identified with Le Pen too much and folks here will remind you of the baggage that goes with someone like that, as well they should. Sadly, the extremes in France have a way of hijacking some legit concerns. Many folks have had no where to turn in the political arena. For those of us that know a bit about that political landscape, that’s understandable but only to a degree.
IMHO Sarkozy represents the best hope where Le Pen was hopeless. He is the personage around the word “Stop the madness!” has foisted its collective desire to reverse the socialism that is destroying the nation.
Obama didn’t run on socialism so much as a mocking campaign of illusion. I share your concerns on his socialist bent and when it surfaces, it really is the worst nightmare.
What concerns me most is that he is not merely a liberal/left person who is using those attitudes to merely obtain power. He really does believe in the failed policies of socialism.
That’s what makes him so scary.
