you’re about 2 weeks late...
Representative Bachman - Oh, how I wish that this would come to pass...
Um. The article was published on December 12, two days ago?
I like her. Isn’t she the lady who mentioned Islam, the lib MSM went nuts and the RNC/GOP cut off her money and she won anyway?
I know Mitt Romney helped her at the last minute and I think conservative radio hosts helped her.
Exactly right.

(many out there ahead of Bachmann)
Nuts. *shrugs* Oh well. :P
Highly impractical and less economically effective than a smaller permanent reduction in tax rates.
However.. the more that support it the better....
A tax holiday is a start. Ultimately, Big Government will have to reduce its monetary “footprint” in the U.S. economy lest it strangle the private sector to death.
not only that but we’ll end up with higher taxes once this holiday is over.
They should all begin by saying we get back to what the founders wanted. No income tax. Let the Feds live on excise taxes. No giving money to schools, private groups, private individuals or businesses. No more intrusive income tax forms. It is time the Feds got back to basics. Funding the military and the courts.
A sales tax holiday, reimbursed by the federal government to the states, would go a long way toward boosting the economy.
An income tax holiday is much trickier to implement, especially since taxable wages are calculated on annual basis.
Agreed—it would result in a massive increase in the deficit, which we’ll be paying back for year. I like Rep. Bachmann, but I think the Republicans are better off focusing on serious policy proposals than things like this that are really just political posturing.
I think a serious tax protest will develope as the economy sinks. I haven’t met a single person who didn’t think bailing out the banks was anything other than a theft. The country is in deep trouble and the government wants the American people to stuggle more by giving the fat cats all of their money. The majority in Washington need to be run out of town.
Bachmann is an unabashed conservative and did not back away from her principles during her re-election campaign. While the idea of a tax holiday may not be practical in comparison to other, better and more lasting alternatives, she is willing to put her beliefs out in the public arena and I respect her greatly for that.
A thread having to do with Michelle Bachmann is... worthless without pics.
