People should teach themselves on how to make a firearm, almost everyone I meet think its inconceivable to make a firearm.
200 years ago it was difficult but it was done with primitive tools, nowadays its possible to build something that can exceed what most people need, like multiple barrels or even do it yourself caseles ammo, powders can be made for simple black powder and with some equipment even some smokeless.

Most people have made potato guns so the principle is there, we have seen shows like Mythbusters and an air powered cannon that would probably knock a car off the road.

And there is other alternatives especially those with electronics skills to build sound devices or microwave guns that can be used for home defense.

A shotgun is the easiest to make and the easiest to reload with basic powders even as simple as matchsticks.

Buying guns now or rather before the prices went up is like buying a rock solid investment plan, unless the gun is pure junk its value will increase if and when there becomes a scarcity, however much if times get tough don’t sell it, you may have to shoot your food when your children go hungry because the government ran out of money.

Dicks Sporting goods here in Virginia has increased their prices of .223 to
over $12.00 for a box of Twenty. I still get the same ammo for less than $8.00 a box
at a local gun shop, "Federal FMJ".

Prices are creeping up though, stock up now.

Did that when I was 13. That was in 1953. Barrel was a 1952 Buick radio antenna. Little beauty, fired .22 long-rifle rounds.
