To all: If you haven't already canceled your daily newspaper, please consider doing so. The one-two punch of recession and the Internet have really put newspapers on the ropes. This is the best opportunity political conservatives have had in years to finally put the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party out of business. In ordinary times, the act of a few Republicans canceling their paper wouldn't have much effect. But today, that might be enough to push many papers over the edge. With the newspapers go the Associated Press, which is arguably the single biggest threat to the ability of the American people to conduct self-government. The AP is a cooperative owned by its member newspapers. If enough of them go out of business, the AP will go out of business, and with them Ron Fornier, Liz Sidoti, and the rest of the Democratic Party activists who pose as "journalists" in our so-called "news" industry. Ask yourself: do you really want to see another election like this past one, where the press hounds every Republican from dawn to dusk while promoting a totally unqualified, wet-behind-the-ears amateur whom they see as their Messiah? Do we really need a "news" industry that publishes photos of The One with a halo? If you don't think so, do your part: stop supporting these Democrat activists with your money. Cancel the paper. |

Cancelled my 15-year subscription to Oakland Press the day after the election and told them why. They have called me no less than 4 times to offer “free for a time” and “50% off for a time” subscriptions if I renew.
I do feel badly for my delivery person though. He/she has provided excellent delivery service even in lousy weather.
