'Red Eye' Host Blasts Olbermann's 'Homoerotic' O'Reilly Obsession

"Red Eye" host Greg Gutfeld marvelously blasted the insufferable Keith Olbermann Friday for his "homoerotic obsession with Bill O'Reilly."

This deliciously came hours after the "Countdown" host bashed former Nixon administration figure Chuck Colson for having the nerve to speak out in favor of California's Proposition 8 which defined marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

What really caught the ire of Gutfeld and company was a false assertion Olbermann made on air Wednesday about what transpired on a recent "Red Eye" (video embedded right, partial transcript below the fold):

I must admit- I love “Red Eye” even though it shocks me sometime. But not when it takes a shot at the insufferable talking heads on the news stations that no one watches. THEN it is hilarious!

Huh.. If I didn't see his name here on FR threads I would never have heard of him, and I've certainly never seen Oberman's show, not even a snippet. Based on what I read here, why would I? I do admit to gaping at car wrecks on the highway, but that's only because they come within my line of vision, not because I'm looking for them.

O'Reilly made a huge mistake in ever acknowledging the idiot's existence. He should have ignored the attacks from Day One, as the primary purpose for them was to garner the attention from the feud that erupted. That's what started to give Olberdork his audience. If O'Reilly's massive ego would have realized that, it's possible he would have half the audience he has managed to accumulate.

Classic example of this is what happened in the Twin Cities when Howard Stern came to town. The leading morning show is on KQRS. What Stern used to do when he came to a new town was to spend an extra hour each day in the initial month trashing the city's No. 1 show, in the hopes of sparking a media war that would only draw attention to Stern, and drive the No. 1 show's listeners away to him. KQRS didn't mention Stern once - not even obliquely. Don't remember how long Stern was in the market, but he wasn't there for very long, and KQRS is still going strong.

More like homoeraticism. He’s obsessive about O’Reilly’s ratings, which are more than three times better than Olbermann’s ratings.
