Totally agree. Isn't the Governor of the state supposed to request federal assistance before it's given anyways? Until then I was under the assumption that the guard took orders from the governor.

Yes and one of the articles talks about these “teams” being under the Governor’s control, like the guard, still stinks. I’m also wondering if the “teams” are Brigade size, such as 1st BCT (3ID), etc.? That might give us a clear indication of just how large these forces really are.

So, where will they be housed, fed and operate from? Ah well, we’re just the little people anyway...
