What good will it do? He’s gone in a month anyway.

Already did, but you know what? Ok, first I will admit that I have become very cynical and suspicious lately so take that for whatever it is worth. But Bush has nothing to gain or lose politically at this point. This takes all the pressure off of Congress and the Messiah. Now it can ALL be Bush’s fault. They have set him up! He doesn’t want to go out thinking he will be blamed for the auto industry blow up so, he caves.

Talk about spitting in the wind. I think the question is whether Bush has the legal authority to use TARP to bail out the automakers, and if not, who has the legal standing to sue him and stop him.
