Day Three of Blagogate and Barack Obama still doesn't get it. On Day One, he said it was sobering and saddening but it would be inappropriate for him to comment. On Day Two, he let it be known, through a spokesman and after virtually every other politician in America had already expressed the same sentiment, that it might be a good idea for Governor Rod Blagojevich to resign.
So we shouldn't have expected too much from today's press conference. What did we get? Three questions about Blagogate and a fourth one about healthcare - to which, when the questioner said she was changing the subject, Obama responded: "Good." - and three lawyerly responses.
Problem is, no one else do not want to change the subject.
As per usual, Obama was smooth, fluent and unruffled. He didn't have that deer-in-the headlines, stammering look that can afflict even the entirely innocent when put on the spot about a scandal.

Mr. President Elect, you said that David Axelrod misspoke when he said two weeks ago that you had direct contact with Gov Blagoveich and discussed your vacant senate seat. However, a local television station reported that you did in fact meet with the Governor which the Chicago Tribune and the Governor's website corroborated, did they misspeak as well?
Will you provide a copy of your schedule and calls as well as Secret Service detail records for the last 8 weeks?
Do you agree with those who are calling for an Independent Counsel to be named and for Patrick Fitzgerald to recuse himself?

As I used to say about Bill Clinton, Barack 0bama could shotgun murder a gaggle of praying nuns on the White House lawn at high noon in front of every TV station in North America while he was high on cocaine and tequila and it would never get reported.
How good is Obama's teflon exterior, to keep from making the mud stick? I suspect that Obama's sins are much, much bigger than Bill Clinton's and have a much more sticking power,and sooner or later, that "blue stained dress" will show up. I suspect it will be sooner than later.
If no one is listening to the Mainstream media, do they really exist?

Don’t tell me that you aren’t suprised he hasn’t fallen down the stairs, or out of a window yet?
He displayed the same tendency during the Presidential Debates. It’s also called vanity.
Whenever McCain proved him wrong on a point, Obama didn’t flinch, he just changed and chameleon-like accepted the new correction. Most people are conscientious enough, so as not to misguide others when they are wrong, to pause. accept correction, and politely acknowledge they other party. This is a common courtesy in respecting the volition of others by not implying they are wrong in a disagreement when the other party disproves a position.
It’s as if Obama was never raised by parents to correct him and insist upon good manners, but he merely was commanded to results in order to control him. Over time he has adapted to negative feedback by change, but by vain mechanisms never recognizing the equality of others and their volition.
This vanity also nicely explains his perception of hope as linked to audacity.
Most people immediately perceive such vanity, but are conscientious enough not to immediately call such vanity, out of common courtesy to avoid being rude. It appears Obama has adapted socially to such pauses by changing on the fly and continueing to pursue his goal, shifting his volition, but never in recognition of other people, i.e. in vanity.
IMHO, his “Hail to the Chief” should be changed to the Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain”.

More than once I’ve heard Fox reporters imply that they hoped any connections to Obama wouldn’t be found, claiming any to team Obama, at this point, “would not be good for the Country”.
