A bipartisan group of senators reached tentative agreement Thursday night on an emergency $14 billion bailout for U.S. automakers, the Senate's top Democrat said. Majority Leader Harry Reid said the lead Republican architect of the deal was briefing colleagues on the compromise, and Democrats were prepared to move forward on it quickly.
"We're ready to go," said Reid.

Sounds more and more like "immigration reform".
Here's an idea ~ just buy GM and send it to Mexico. That way the new employees won't have to bother taking a long trip to get jobs.

Part of the agreement was the big 3 had to agree to get paid what Toyota and Hyandai are getting with no perks.
Also, they can sue states over emissions controls, contrary to what Pelosi (obviously) wanted.
All green controls were also supposed to be taken out. I wonder if they got these. That kind of pressure is a good thing.

So now in effect as a non union member taxpayer working for the private sector without any protection against being laid off at any time for any reason I will be subsidizing the job of some democratic union schmuck who will continue to make six figures with full retirement and benefits for life
Thanks GOP

Any republican senator that votes for this bill or ANY other bailout money should not recieve the endorsement for their senate seat the next time they are up for election. They should get no funds, and a republican should run to unseat him.
