That's because shortly after Blagojevich allegedly told his advisers, in an expletive-laced conference call, that he would not appoint Obama's pick to the Senate absent huge favors in return, Obama's apparent pick promptly dropped out of the running for the Senate and joined the new White House staff.
"Reading between the lines ... clearly somebody from (Obama's) operation did have a conversation with Blagojevich," Democratic strategist Bob Beckel told FOX News. He added that Obama's representative evidently wasn't trying to cut a deal since Blagojevich indicated he was "getting nothing out of the Obama people."
FOX News has confirmed that Valerie Jarrett, a senior Obama adviser, is the individual identified in the Blagojevich affidavit as Senate Candidate 1.

Valerie Jarrett withdrew her name from consideration for the US Senate seat on the same day (Nov. 10) as the Blago's conference call outlining his requirements. It does suggest that Obama's team shied away from joining the bidding war, but it also indicates quite clearly that there was communication between Blago and Obama's team on or before Nov. 10
Blago noted that Obama wouldn’t give him anything for it.
That means he asked and Obama refused. Unless Obama’s next call was to the FBI then he is part of the conspiracy.

But we are talking the President elect, the guy who will be in charge of enforcing laws among other things. Looking the other way while a Senate seat is raffled off.

of course this is how Obama got the senate seat in the first place so thats no surprise.
The person who takes Barracks senate seat needs to have something dirty on them so that they can not spill the beans on the corruption that is the Senate office of Barack Obama.
In other words the abuse of power must not be disrupted or exposed.
This is why Obama is involved in this choice of his successor.
But, it is hard to keep a lid on conspiracy when so many are involved.
So the Governor will be the fall guy.
Obama purposely wanted someone who would pay a bribe and it didn't work.
This is pure speculation on my part but, it is the character of these people that makes me believe this.

It’s also just enough for Fitz and the media to exonerate him. That’s why Fitz moved so fast, to make sure Obama didn’t reconsider and try to influence Blago.
The question is not whether Obama was involved in the choice of his successor (of course he was), or why Obama would be involved in the choice of his successor (because any person in his position would want to have a say in the choice of his successor), but rather, was Obama involved in the illegal bribery and favor-trading that went on as the Governor decided who to appoint as Obama's successor.
Someone from within the investigation leaked news of the wiretapping back in October.
Agree, I am so glad somebody finally is saying this. Up until now they framed this as exoneration for Obama, but it is really quite the opposite. And this means Obama knew DIRECTLY. Even if he did not actually speak to the Governor himself, the information got to him and the response was from him via his people, which speak on his behalf, at his direction. He is so caught!
Now they are trying to change the subject. DO NOT LET THEM DO THAT. That is what all the Palin fuss was about, the old distract trick. No more, focus focus focus.
Sure the staff changes but those people just don't go away.
What did he know and when did he know it? Yup the media will be investigating that.
The following people, at the least, need to testify before a Grand Jury on this matter: Barack Obama, David Axelrod, Rahm Emmanuel, Valerie Jarrett and Jesse Jackson, Jr.
These people all need to be under oath when they answer questions.

Remember, there’s precedent for something like this. There was that certain Democrat President who lost his law license over lying under oath. ‘Memba him?”
