In an interview with CNN- General Colin Powell said of Gov. Sarah Palin:
"Gov. Palin, to some extent, pushed the party more to the right, and I think she had something of a polarizing effect when she talked about how small town values are good. Well, most of us don’t live in small towns. And I was raised in the South Bronx, and there’s nothing wrong with my value system from the South Bronx."

If you like crime, drugs, violence, profanity, rap music, sky-high jury verdits and reverse racism, then I suppose its value system is right up his alley.

Urban and country areas are predominantly conservative. The classic conservative values and fiscal policy's are what are going to get our country out of this fiscal cesspool!

Propose a Constitutional Convention. Bend your state legislators ears about repeal of the 16th amendment and replace it with the Fair Tax. It will scare the legislators so much that they will do it to protect their jobs. Then we could slip in Term Limits. The 2nd amendment is not in danger because All the states must ratify any changes to the constitution.

How old is Powell? Maybe, just maybe, at the time he grew up, it was not yet the wasteland it had become by the ‘70s, and still is today.
It’s quite possible he’s comparing apples and oranges. The Bronx he grew up in is gone.
I would love for him to re-phrase and go in more detail. Is he really comparing the values of small-town America, centered around family life and traditional values, to the values of drug dealers, youth gangs, high school dropouts, societal dropouts, assorted criminals, and the baby mama culture???? Can we have that debate? I would love to have that debate.

Well, Mr. Secretary, I do believe your parents came from very conservative small towns on a very conservative small island, and picked up those values, and tried to raise you by them. I used to think they’d succeeded pretty well. Now I wonder.
Yes,there could well have been a time when the "values" of the South Bronx were admirable.But exactly where do *you* live *today*,Mr Secretary? Georgetown? McLean,VA? We know it sure as heck ain't in the Bronx...North,South,East or West.

Northern Virginia isn’t representative of Virginia as a whole. The area around DC is primarily populated with carpetbaggers from the north who brought their liberal poison with them. I’m all for their secession.
