For you, I’m checking in, Ron. On the matter of why Jews vote democrat in such embarrassingly high numbers, the trouble is equating Jews with Judaism. The fact is, the more observant a Jew is, the less likely he or she is to vote democrat. Hence the reason McCain got an estimated 75% of the Orthodox Jewish vote. The less a Jew knows about Judaism, the more likely he is to replace that lack of religious observance with the pseudo-religion of liberalism. Social justice has become a religion in itself. The best way to get Jews to start waking up and becoming republican/conservative, is to become more observant of Judaism.
Regarding Ann’s answer, I think, rhetorically, it’s doesn’t usually work out well to bring up the Holocaust when discussing Jewish voting trends. I understand where she was going with the victim status thing, but I think the misguided sense of social justice angle is where she means to be.
