John Kass has become one of my favorite columnists .. he writes with a club, truth serum and some laughing gas.

By Chicago standards, Blagojevich isn’t crazy

"He's crazy," said one talking head of our governor. "A sociopath!" said another. "He should have been put in a straitjacket, not handcuffs," said a third, all of them diagnosing Blagojevich as cuckoo.
Well, of course -- portraying Blago as crazy helps Obama -- who, everyone in the adorational media agrees, is calm, reasonable, honest and totally removed from any such "craziness." Therefore, Obama is totally innocent of any involvement in Blago's "crazy" schemes. How could anyone think otherwise?
That's what the public is meant to think, because the media can't afford to be honest now about Chicago politics, after having spent a year ignoring the rampant corruption for the sake of the O. The truth is, Blago is just a typical Chicago politician, swimming in the same cesspool as Obama. Daniel Kelly of the Chicago Daily Observer expands on the same theme as Kass:
Many commentators have opined that Blagojevich displayed incredible arrogance and stupidity in continuing to conduct business as usual in light of ongoing investigations into his corrupt activities that led to his arrest. Fair enough, but where were these complacent media mavens at while Blagojevich was skirting the rules and lining his pockets for close to two decades? Perhaps the governors colossal arrogance developed as the result of not being held accountable by the liberal media establishment for such a length of time....
Seldom, if ever, has an undeserving politician scaled such heights as Rod Blagojevich by virtue of a propitious marriage and a full head of well coiffed hair. This scandal may serve as a cautionary lesson for Barack Obama, whose personal career arc mirrors that of Blagojevich in numerous details.
Isn't he a riot? Love him!
The Tribune really has it in for Blagojevich. Good.
