US President-elect Barack Obama will try to "reboot America's image" among the world's Muslims and will follow tradition by using his entire name, Barack Hussein Obama, in his swearing-in ceremony, he was quoted as saying in an interview published Wednesday in the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times.
He pledged anew to give such a speech, though he declined to say whether it would happen during his first year in office.
"It's something I intend to follow through on," Obama said in the interview.
"We've got a unique opportunity to reboot America's image around the world and also in the Muslim world in particular. So we need to take advantage of that."
Obama said his message would be two-fold: that his administration will be unyielding in stamping out terrorist extremism but also "unrelenting in our desire to create a relationship of mutual respect and partnership with countries."
"I think the world is ready for that message," he said in the interview, conducted Tuesday.
During the campaign, Obama repeatedly faced questions about whether he is a Muslim, particularly in whisper campaigns that noted his middle name, that his father is Kenyan, and that he lived for a time as a child in Indonesia.

The way things are going, he might get the boot before he has a chance to do any rebooting.
Of course it is America’s image that need refurbishing; 9/11 didn’t improve it quite enough.
All true, but it had to be whispered as The One didn't want it known, his Muslim roots.
Now it's OK because he is King Of The World.
So if he thinks that the USA needs to be "rebooted", he's going to wait a year?

That won’t work, unfortunately. Obama’s install has the Ayers Virus, and there is no back-up copy of the 9/11 victims to revert to.
The Muslims have been hostile to the outside world for 1300 years. Obama thinks he can “re-boot” that attitude, like he is pressing a FReepin’ button.
If you ever wanted a quote that so precisely encapsulates the cluelessness and lack of seriousness of Barack Obama, this is it.
Listen here, Barack... and listen good. The Muslims will not be at peace with us until we are converted, enslaved or dead. You can’t “re-boot” that. That is who they are. That is what they do.
