Blaring from a speaker behind a metal grate in his tiny cell in Iraq, the blistering rock from Nine Inch Nails hit Prisoner No. 200343 like a sonic bludgeon.

“Stains like the blood on your teeth,” Trent Reznor snarled over distorted guitars. “Bite. Chew.”

The auditory assault went on for days, then weeks, then months at the U.S. military detention center in Iraq. Twenty hours a day. AC/DC. Queen. Pantera. The prisoner, military contractor Donald Vance of Chicago, told The Associated Press he was soon suicidal.

LOL! Yoko Ono was my first pick when I saw this thread. A few seconds of her and they will confess to crimes from thousands of years ago:

Really? I think the misconception is that rap is the best “torture”...I guess it isn’t. Maybe Meryl Haggard would fry their minds?

It's a shame that the Starland Vocal Band doesn't have a larger catalog.

“It will feature minutes of silence during concerts and festivals, said Chloe Davies of the British law group Reprieve, which represents dozens of Guantanamo Bay detainees and is organizing the campaign.”

Are these people absolutely out of their minds? Wait, nevermind... I know the answer. We’re holding moments of silence at concerts for suspected terrorists?

I’m sure Ted Nugent would be happy to supply some ear-splitting guitar rock for our military if these insane wussies don’t want their music made useful.

> If someone tied me up and turned up some music by REM, country, rap, or bluegrass, I would probably sing like a bird and tell my interrogators everything they wanted to know.

(grin!) Actually, that sounds like a pretty good weekend to me!

I love bagpipes.

No one’s mentioned Streisand. Put her on a big screen too. The nose and crossed eyes are part of the torture.

Ultimately, it is the individual that has problems, not the music.

Tiny Tim being the exception to that rule.

What a bunch of candy a$$ed prisoners. If someone plays a song 20 days in a row the FIRST thing you do is learn it, whatever the language. Then you SING it.

And a fine Astronomer, too! I used to think Eddie Van Halen was the greatest guitarist, but on reflection Brian May is better. Much, much better!

That's just cruel. They starting thinking 72 Streisands were waiting for them in Paradise.

You know .... maybe that's not a bad idea. It certainly would discourage suicide bombers if that's all they had to look forward to.

You really want to make them crack?

Stick them in a cell and crank up BOB WILLS and THE TEXAS PLAYBOYS!

You either love it or hate it! I love it!

A few hours of The BLACK ANGELS will make you suicidal!

After reading that reply, I realized that I didn’t phrase it correctly. Tiny Tim’s music would send any individual over the edge. Tiny Tim certainly was certain a problem individual.

Hey, I *like* Barry Manilow!

(Does that mean I’m torture-proof? Enquiring minds want to know!)
