Actually, I agree with you. Fitz wanted to make sure Obama wasn’t directly implicated. That political witchhunt he did on Libby. And NOW, keeping Obama from being directly involved is enough to get him rehired as US Attorney, at least. If Rezko has enough, it might be enough to get Fitz that next SCOTUS opening.

To protect Obama, to protect whichever ‘Rat might have been named by Blogajevich, etc. etc.
While appearing to stick it to the Democrats the timing of these indictments actually protects other Democrats such as those around Obama from getting drawn into the pending “deal” on the Senate appointment.
This is the opposite of a “sting” operation, it’s damage-control for the Democrats.
