BLAGOJEVICH ON TAKING THE SENATE SEAT HIMSELF
“If . . . they’re not going to offer anything of any value, then I might just take it.”
“Unless I get something real good for (unnamed Senate candidate), [expletive], I’ll just send myself, you know what I’m saying.”
“I’m going to keep this Senate option for me a real possibility, you know, and therefore I can drive a hard bargain. You hear what I’m saying. And if I don’t get what I want and I’m not satisfied with it, then I’ll just take the Senate seat myself.
(The Senate seat) “is a [expletive] valuable thing, you just don’t give it away for nothing.”
BLAGOJEVICH ON THE NEGOTIATIONS
(The ) “trick . . . is how do you conduct indirectly . . . a negotiation.”
“How much are you offering, (President-elect Obama)? What are you offering, (second unnamed Senate candidate)? . . . Can always go to. . . (third unnamed Senate candidate).”
“It’s got to be good stuff for the people of Illinois and good for me.”
“I’ve got this thing and it’s [expletive] golden, and, uh, uh, I’m just not giving it up for [expletive] nothing. I’m not gonna do it. And, and I can always use it. I can parachute me there.”
THAT was fast ... and WRONG!

Prosecutor: No allegations of Obama wrongdoing
Associated Press

CHICAGO - Federal prosecutors say the investigation into allegations that Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich tried to sell the Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama found no evidence that Obama did anything wrong.
At a news conference in Chicago on Tuesday, U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald reiterated a number of times that there were no allegations of impropriety on Obama’s part.
The governor is accused of conspiring to sell or trade Illinois’ vacant senate seat.
The 76-page FBI affidavit contends that governor was intercepted on wiretaps last month conspiring to shake people down, and it alleges he even considered appointing himself if he wasn’t offered anything of value.
