Governor Palin was A) either mishandled by those responsible for grooming her on the international issues or B) needs time to mature and bone up on the issues because the media will relentlessly portray her as a neophyte or dilettante. Her educational background may not EVER satisfy an ever-increasingly educated populace — that's going to be her biggest obstacle.
I doubt very sincerely the religious right will care about that on an subjective basis, but they'd better recognize it on the objective basis.
I didn't know a whole lot about her, but I instantly recognized what she stood for. I saw her as someone who was not from the normal Beltway mold, and I very much liked that.
I could see her character, integrity, patriotism and base conservatism. Those things are the most important character traits for a president. Plus Alaska is a very different place from the rest of the US. It has a lot of the spirit that built this nation, again something I really liked in Palin.
We won't get a true change agent that passes the filter of the mains team media; it just won't happen. They will have disdain for anyone who is a real conservative. A faux conservative they will bless.
But a honest “lets get government out of our lives” conservative (like Reagan) will be ridiculed.
Are you serious? Are you aware of the ignorance of the typical voter?
