Well, at some point in time you have to cultivate enough blocs, agendas and resultant votes to win an election.

You don't get that done with an "I'm right, you're a RINO" approach.

You have to build a coalition of varying interests, agendas and priorities that are better satisfied by voting for the GOP candidate over the Democrat candidate.

Politics is real world stuff.

I agree but a certain element at FR can’t seem to grasp this. I go hole hog for the conservative in the primaries and then vote the lesser of two evils in the general. I do think it is counter productive to allow so called independents to vote in the Republican primaries.

Better idea: stick to our guns, convince people we're correct on the issues through articulation and persuasion. You know, what Reagan did.

Political reality changes daily. Our convictions should not.
