I am an adoptee too and I can't speak to the original poster's analysis. Each state has its own set of laws regarding this original birth certificate issue. I was born in MO and the law there is just unbreakable for the adoptee prior to I believe 1986 when the laws changed just a little.
In my circumstance, I am entitled to what is called Non Identifying Information ( for which we have to pay a sum of $$ to get). On it, it will show characteristics of the natural parents, physical description, education, if there were illnesses etc but NO NAMES OR LOCATIONS. If I use a Confidential Intermediary to search and should this court appointed person locate the natural parents ( or as we in the triad call them birth parents) both must agree to release of information. If one does not, it is no go, if one is dead then nothing.
In my case, I hired a PI and located my natural mother but nothing could be found on the father..not a thing which means in all likelihood, she kept the name to herself saying she didn't know the person. Therefore there is no name on the original birth certificate. All I have is an amended Certificate of Live Birth Record from the state of MO and in all the spaces where info about the parents would be,my adoptive parents names are plugged in.
I hope this helps. Who knows about Barry or whatever his name is..

In your instance the law, I believe, is consistent across the nation. When you have two parents who have orphaned a child, through whatever cause, the state/s recognize the privacy of both parents.

NII is all you could normally receive until a few years ago. Some states have loosened the restrictions and a little more information is available.

Your history and amended BC are another example of the adoption process, name change and amended BC.

Sorry to hear about the results of your search.
