Herbert Hoover was also a prolific writer, and Richard Nixon wrote one bestseller after another after leaving the presidency.

And don't forget Bill Clinton. He had several letters published in Penthouse Magazine while he was still president.

Also Ronald Reagan. Who wrote some great and historic speeches during the 70's. I'm surprised that he didn't pimp the Kennedy meme, after all Obama had the same technique, hire a ghost writer.
