Not likely to see an air attack by India. They're Sukhoi Su-30MKI's would be hard pressed to get past the extensive Paki SAM network and the 44 operational F-16's we sold the Paki's.
Nearly all of which are deployed to the Indian side of Pakistan.
Pakistan has a considerable air defense and without cooperation, India is stalemated for now.

It all depends on pilot quality. The SU-30 is a hot stick and can cause real problems. The Indians have also upgraded their older MiG with new radar, electronics and missiles. They could use 104 upgraded MiG-21 and 56 MiG-29s to to make the Pakistani spread out their 40 or so F-16s and then punch through with their first team of 80 SU-30s.
Unless Pakistan's pilots are good enough to fight outnumbered 5 to 1 then they can only hope to bloody the Indians before they are driven out of the sky. And the Pakistanis don't get a lot of stick time in their F-16s due to limited budgets.

Before the Indians declare war against Pakistan, they need to teach their police to stop cowering in the corners and shoot at the bad guys (would help if they can hit what they're shooting at too).
It would also help if the Indian "Commandos" could respond to their Government's decision to deploy in less than 10 hours from the decision to "Go" as well.
India would be better off if they enacted a 2nd Amendment to allow the average citizen of India to arm and protect themselves. I can't see that they'd be in any more danger than they are now from these Insane Lunatic Jihadists when they're being "protected" by cowardly Police who hide and refuse to shoot at the bad guys.

India has a history of showing no quarter. A case in point is the fate of the British garrison and their families at Cawnpore in 1857. A horrific slaughter.
