Not entirely true Sherman...

Obama was a citizen of Indonesia until at least the age of 21 at Occidental college, when he traveled abroad under his Indonesian passport.

No matter where he was born, which is indeed in dispute, there is NO dispute over the fact that he was a citizen of Indonesia at a time when Indonesia did not allow dual citizenship.

This means he had to have renounced his citizenship in any other nation in order to become a legal citizen of Indonesia.

If he had “naturalized” upon returning to the USA, (which he didn't), then he would be a “naturalized” citizen, not a natural born citizen today.

Please know the facts before posting.

1. Nobody has posted any proof that Obama was an Indonesian citizen, only suppositions.

2. Whether Indonesia allows dual citizenship is irrelevant to whether the US does. Indonesia can have whatever policies it chooses. It does not affect our policies.

3. He lived in Indonesia only from the age of 6 to 10. It is just not possible for a minor or his parents to renounce American citizenship for a child.

4. If he indeed had an Indonesian passport, perhaps because he wanted to travel to a country where his American passport would be an issue, that would be odd but again not disqualifying him as an American citizen. One Freeper posted that he has passports for five countries. He’s still an American citizen.
