>>”With a little attitude adjustment we could have him hunting for fresh meat for all of us.”<<
His attitude is what caused my strong response. If he hadn’t threatened to come in with his gang of “a dozen buddies” shooting my house up to steal our food etc., he would have been invited for dinner and shelter.
We would never turn away a hungry family.
Well, I mentioned what (or who) you feed to your pit bull!
Are alligators picky eaters?
Heard a story a few years back, near Tacoma there is a place called “South Hill” which has various thugs, habitually unemployed neer do well, and riff raff.
At one point, some of the thugs and thugettes started intruding into a nearby neighborhood, without realizing there were a number of SF’s who lived there who had a large assortment of, well, let’s call them “specialty” weapons.
Not even close!
HMM. well I might feed them on the porch.
Beans....and if they want another bowl they better come back with venison.
Same here and that was what I was trying to explain to another poster who had a different attitude than the attack dude.
Not with that attitude.
Hand him a shovel and make him dig.
The last hole he would ever dig.
We know what it’s for.
So does he.
Most definitely not. He and the barefooted gang would need to humbly ask for their shoes back.
flour stores best in plastic or metal cans you can seal
also bay leaves put in flower or macaroni or spaghetti will keep the weevils and other bugs out just be sure to remove as you take the flour out and sift
Get the beans ready. I’ll supply all the venison you can eat. I doubt if the looter/thief/pillager would be willing to share anyway. If so, the cost would be far too high to pay.
“attack dude”.....that’s funny, thanks

If there is a will (to find extra storage space) there is a way. Not too long ago I was thinking about the space under the sofas. You know, that space above the floor but below the cushions. That might be some good storage for things you only need to access once a year or so. A pain to get to, but it would also keep the dog toys out from under the sofa. I also built a footstool (that was really a storage chest) for our familyroom. It is beginning to sound like I am a storage junky!
Revelation 6:8
I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
Well, at some point in time, and I am betting very early in the game, dude and his dude chumps are gonna get cornered in a house or whatever.
Then the shoes on the other foot. Me and people I know (including Viet vets and Desert Storm guys) go over there once an hour and put a round or two through.
Of course every time we do that, dude and dude chumps fire a flurry of rounds back.
They are out of ammo in 8 hours or less.
Guaranteed.
LOL! Didn’t know what else to call him.
If you’ve got venison, you can have all the beans, taters, noodles (homemade) etc you want!!! I’ll do the cooking if you do the butchering.
South Hill was a great place when I lived there,,,(68-69)
My last 10 mo. in the Army,,,
Young G.I. with a new wife(#1)barely scrapin’ by,,,
That was Biker~Redneck Country in those days,,,
Those folks helped me find enough part-time work so that
we could eat,,,
Glad to hear that the SF(MAC-SOG) is alive and well...;0)
That is after we’re gone.
Hopefully no FReeper will be among them that remain.
I store my jellies and jams under the sofa (which is actually a futon, but has space under it) until this time of the year. Its in the living room where the wood stove is and gets too warm in there.
Good plan. That would put a stop to him and his “gang” from stealing from decent people.
He seems to have disappeared for now. The last I heard from him I think he was choking on something.
Y’all are GOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!
Yes, that may be true. Even so, in difficult times like in the Great Depression people do what it takes to get by. In days gone by people put up food like veggies from the garden for the winter. Should we not prepare for what we see coming, and even more so, so that we can help others?
