and for the sake of integrity; what about the denial of habeus corpus to the millions of people aborted in the womb every year and the rationale behind it?

(is it that liberals resent having information extracted from their allies in the war against the united states?)

IMHO

They couldn’t hate him any worse, so in the interests of the country, Pres. Bush should issue a blanket pardon to everyone in his administration for his two terms of office. Otherwise, he and VP Cheney will be making their lawyers richer for the next 10 years.

The most cunning idea I've seen ( wish I could recall the FReeper who came up with it ) is for President Bush to issue pardons to everyone in his Administration, resign, and then now-President Cheney could pardon him...

“Pretty hard to deny something that never applied before.”

Yeah, that’s like suing combat soldiers for not recognizing insurgents’ right to (the latin words for) not blowing their heads off with RPGs without a warrant.

“One of Barack Obama’s first acts as president should be to instruct his attorney general to appoint an independent prosecutor to initiate a criminal investigation of former Bush Administration officials who gave the green light to torture”

I wonder if it occurs to these people that this sort of thing wouldn’t just apply to Bush and Nixon. FDR and Johnson were wartime presidents too. Do you think no one broke the “law” (whatever controlling legal authority it is we’re talking about here) during WWII and the early years of Vietnam? Ha!

Could have been me ... I've began saying that on Election night. But, then, I've seen other people on this board saying it too, and I'm not sure if it's an echo of what I said or if we've come up with it independently. However, it IS a good idea and I wish Bush would do it ... if only because it would piss off the RATS so much and they a lot of fun when they're pissed off like that.

Why can’t Bush pardon himself? I was under the impression that the only limitation on the pardon power was in the case of impeachment.

I've seen the idea on several sites, just proving that "great minds think alike."

It would drive the Left hair-pullin'-out, jump up and down crazy.

If he is wise, President Bush will issue a blanket pardon to EVERYONE that took part in the war on terror.
President Bush is not WISE. He is many things, some of them good, but he is not WISE.

And right now he's obsessed with being LIKED BY LIBERALS when he leaves office.

He will easily toss these good men and women to the wolves, without a second thought, so that Liberals will pat him on the back at cocktail parties.

That's a good question- my understanding of the Presidential pardon is like yours. Hmmm... I'd love to see him do it-- it would drive The Evil Party stark-starin' bonkers.

That said, I'd just love to see Dick Cheney assume the Presidency, even for a few weeks, just for the entertainment value.

If Cheney takes over for Bush, who suceeds him in the Shadow Government? Or does the crown automatically go back to Satan?

By continuing the Bushes fault syndrome and the rats attempts to prosecute Bush administation appointees for all sorts of ridiculous things, they give the propagandist whore media the go ahead to mask all that is going on in the new administration over the next 4 years. If these stupid Americans voted again for a stupid word "change" and they recieve thier daily dose of propaganda from CNN, MSNBC and all thier local affilliates, this should be a no brainer. Hey no brainer I made a funny that fits.

Obama has no standing, no rule, no power....no anything until he shows he has been elected by Constitutional regulations.

There is a flaw in this reasoning ... It is the expectation that the lawless will be restrained by lawful decrees.

I am inclined to agree with you. However remember the press is the new administrations mouth piece. I can easily see them take the Obama’s administrations side on this.

They would love it if they pulled something like this.

Another thing, they are talking about violations of the Constitution? What a joke.
