"Organizers of the action said the company can't pay employees because its creditor, Charlotte, N.C.-based Bank of America, won't let them. Crain's Chicago Business reported that Republic Windows' monthly sales had fallen to $2.9 million from $4 million during the past month. In a memo to the union, obtained by the business journal, Republic CEO Rich Gillman said the company had "no choice but to shut our doors.

Bank of America received $25 billion from the government's financial bailout package.

"Across cultures, religions, union and nonunion, we all say this bailout was a shame," said Richard Berg, president of Teamsters Local 743. "If this bailout should go to anything, it should go to the workers of this country."

Maybe the union should just write a check and buy the business. Then they can do whatever they want with it.

Across cultures, religions, union and nonunion, we all say this bailout was a shame," said Richard Berg, president of Teamsters Local 743.

And yet the Teamsters Union endorsed Pelosi, Reid, and Obama all of whom were in favor of the 'bailout'.

Report: Bank of America's New Credit Card Targets Illegal Immigrants

Wednesday, February 14, 2007

NEW YORK — Bank of America Corp. has begun offering credit cards to customers without Social Security numbers, typically illegal immigrants, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday. In recent years, banks across the country have been offering checking accounts and even mortgages to the nation's fast-growing ranks of undocumented immigrants, most of whom are Hispanic, the paper said, adding these immigrants generally have not been able to get major credit cards. The new Bank of America card is open to people who lack both a Social Security number and a credit history, as long as they have held a checking account with the bank for three months without an overdraft, the Journal said. Bank of America tested the program last year at five branches in Los Angeles, and last week expanded it to 51 branches in Los Angeles County, home to the largest concentration of illegal immigrants in the U.S., the Journal said. A Bank of America spokesman was not immediately available to comment. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,251672,00.html

Get rid of the teamsters and the plant reopens and expands in months.

If they can’t get rid of the teamster, I wish them well in their China start up.

Are banks required to throw money down a rat hole just because it came from taxpayers? I don’t get their argument.
