Palin's not qualified to be Veep, because she's only been a mayor and governor.
One rule for Sarah Palin, another for Caroline Kennedy
MSNBC, the host Chris Matthews is in full gush mode, (”We all want to be the protector of Caroline Kennedy”), as are most of his guests. When I last suggested that many Americans regarded the Kennedys as their de-facto royal family, some of our more emotional readers howled that this was just a fantasy peddled by the left-wing media.
Well, dream on. The common consensus among New York politics observers is that, as the state enters probably some of the most difficult years in its history, the job is hers for the taking. New York likes its celebrity politicians - cf Mrs Clinton - but glossing over the lack of relevant experience on the Kennedy CV so soon after trashing Sarah Palin for the same weakness seems a mite like double standards.
Matthews has just conceded that the Kennedy thing is “almost like royalty”.
