How much faith do you have in Kennedy...???

He's an idiot who will vote with whomever yells at him the loudest.

Actually, I do not think so ...

Look at Bush v. Gore - a slam dunk 14th Amendment case.

It COULD have been a straight 5-4 decision, with Breyer, Ginsberg, Souter, and Stevens dissenting ...

This would have “weakened” the validity of the ruling in many a citizen's mind ...

As it was, it was a 7-2 decision - with only Ginsberg and Stevens dissenting.

Breyer and Souter chose the Constitution over ideology ... when they could have had “cover” from the wrath of the “left”.

If SCOTUS should take the case(s):

The cases involving Obama’s BC are simple - verify the BC, if he can't, he is out ...

The cases questioning Obama’s “natural born” citizenship and purported dual nationality are more problematic ...

It SCOTUS were to rule that a dual national is a “natural born” citizen:

A situation MIGHT arise in the future where alien residents in the U.S. could have a child and raise him in private to be a sort of “Manchurian Candidate” with an ideology adverse to the U.S., while grooming him in public to be POTUS ...

You might say that this proposition is crazy ... but then again, who thought 7 years ago that hijackers armed with box cutters could take down the WTC towers?

OTOH, if SCOTUS rules that Obama IS NOT a “natural born” citizen, there is a risk of a certain amount of civil unrest - at least for a time ...

I think SCOTUS WILL take the case(s) and SERIOUSLY consider the ramifications ...
