What the heck is a "mistakenly rejected" ballot? Why are ballots ever placed anywhere other than where they are officially supposed to be, or carried anywhere by any other means than a secured vehicle?
Once a ballot has been cast at a polling place, or received by the county through the mail, it should not be allowed to be moved all over the state. There needs to be a designated, secure area at each polling place where ballots must stay during the election, and if they need to be moved to a central location at the end of the election, they should only be packaged in a single secure container and transported straight to that location under proper supervision, with no stops along the way! No stopping at some poll workers house. No stopping at a convenience store along the way. No leaving them in somebody's car over night. Nothing. Period.
Sigh. How wonderful it would be to live in a red state, where these kinds of election-safeguarding procedures were actually followed.
If they are misplaced they should be rejected, no matter who they favor, because the proper chain of custody has been lost. It really doesn't seem that complicated but what do I know?
If I worked in the polling place that day (and once you’re there..YOU ARE THERE FOR THE WHOLE DAY)...I would sue for defamation of character.
While all you say is true, the way to stop this crap is the proper disqualifying of any "found" ballots after the official count. When recounting the only ballots recounted should be, and in a real democratic republic(such as we are supposed to be)would be, the original ballots counted. Allowing newly "found" ballots during the recount only aids the fraudulent elections of Democrats such as the infamous Governor of Washington state. Any Judge worth his/her salt would disqualify all these so called "disputed" ballots on both sides. Coleman won the first count and the second, even after a phony recount of found ballots.
The SoS should immediately certify this election, it is over.
