"Caesar had his Brutus, Charles I his Cromwell, and George III may profit by their example."
Patrick Henry, 1765

"Liberty has a price" P. Henry

"It is natural to shut our eyes against painful truth. But I am willing to know the whole truth and act as it demands. This colony should be immediately put into a state of defense and a large number of men trained and armed for that purpose." P. Henry, March-1774

"The constitution is an instrument for the people to restrain government." P. Henry

"Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here." John Parker, captain of the Lexington minutemen.

"I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country." Nathan Hale (SALUTE!)

To date, the following quote came from a great sea fight that has not been equaled in all the history of naval war; the great ocean victory of John Paul Jones. At a point when all seemed lost, the British Captain shouted to Commodore Jones:
"Have you surrendered?"
"I have not yet begun to fight," answered Jones.
