The petition for a writ of certiorari is granted.

call me stupid, but I don’t know what this is “a writ of certiorari”.

That is what they use to ask the Supreme court to hear a case. If it is granted, then the court will review the case, if it is not granted, as in this instance, than the lower court’s ruling stands. The lower court threw the case out, so the case is effectively dead.

Gee that's a confusing post!

So far what happened at SCOTUS on this case is nothing. Nothing to report. Some say that it is usual for the court to issue the list of rejected cases on Monday. Until then we wait. The absence of the case Donofrio from the list of cases accepted does not always mean that it is rejected.
