"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." 2 Corinthians 4:3,4 Jesus still has not returned so Satan continues to control this world. He keeps most unsaved men in spiritual darkness, obsessed with the evil within themselves. That's why the world will never find answers of peace, economic prosperity, low crime, etc. because they are owned by "the god of this world", not Jesus Christ. Unless a politician has made an outright and open confession of faith in Jesus Christ and has a long history of doing His will regardless of the consequences to himself or his political career then that politician is influenced by "the god of this world" not Jesus Christ.
