Chambliss Win Offers Secret for GOP Comeback

By: Dick Morris & Eileen McGann

We have written before that the message of the November election results for us is simple: Conservatism and the free enterprise system are too important to leave their protection to the morons who run the Republican Party.

So when even the ability to filibuster seemed on the verge of being taken from the forces of conservative government, we decided to act by helping to raise funds for independent expenditure groups who are willing to run the kind of ads and do the sort of cyber-roots campaigning that was essential to stop the slide in conservative fortunes and guarantee Democrats would not get the elusive but crucial 60th vote in the Senate.

The challenge presented itself on Election Day when Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss failed to win the 50 percent of the vote necessary to avoid a runoff. In the runoff, won by Chambliss this past Tuesday, Democrats had their final shot at getting the 60 votes they will need in the Senate to cut off debate and jam through any legislation they wish.

Over the past four weeks, we have reached out to you and to the Fox News' audience for donations to independent expenditure groups to finance the fight for the Georgia Senate race.

We didn't ask anyone's permission or coordinate with any of the powers-that-be.

These organizations grasped the essential point that the way to appeal to Georgia voters was to explain the Senate rules and to underscore that Obama might be able to pass his most radical agenda — unchecked — if the Democrats won in the Georgia Senate runoff which pitted Chambliss against Democratic challenger Jim Martin.

The geniuses who run the Republican Party had it all wrong.

Why doesn’t it surprise me that he is jumping on the Chambliss’ huge victory bandwagon? It’s all because of him, of course.

believe it or not, it is not “her” but really having “A CONSRVATIVE”

Talk radio by contrast is in the same situation. While Rush may be the giant on talk radio, he has lead to a renaisance of talk radio with conservatives being the backbone of the industry.

Palin is now the giant because she is the ONLY IDENTIFIABLE conservative. People do not want “token” conservatives. People want a bumper crop of conservatives in all elections and all races.

McCain was able to use this fact to intentional split votes to plurality. He used thompson, huckabee and romney as splitters of the conservatives. McCain did not even pick palin because she was a conservative. McCain picked palin because she wore a skirt and might get him a few pumas.

Conservatives need to take over the local parties. We need to be front and center as state delegates at state party conventions. This way when the time comes we will have such strong CONSERVATIVES in the pipeline that it will be impossible for weak candidates like mccain, huckabee, romney, or even thompson to even hold a candle in the race.

Correcto!!! If Palin can help a low life back stabbing scumbag like Chambliss(Rush, we have to compromise) get re-elected she can and will help get the GOP on track.

The professional republicans in Washington make a good living whether the Republican Party or the Democrat Party is in power. They don’t care which party wins as long as no one like Sarah Palin comes along to shake things up.

He's hoping to be an “adviser” to Sarah.

I'll tell you what, she could do a LOT worse.

I don't know what has happened to Moris but he seems to have had an epiphany and is moving more and more to the "RIGHT" side.

Hey he got that philandering, scumbag Klinooon elected and reelected.

I suggested back in October that McLame should have had been taking advice (even on the QT) from Moris.

Does Dick Morris have a genuine bone in his body? Would anyone want to be in a foxhole with him? Not me. I like the guy, don’t get me wrong. Just don’t put me in the same foxhole.
