Virtually all private schools in Australia receive government funding, and I am sure this one is no exception.
The previous Howard government made it a condition of funding that all schools fly the Australian flag, but set no requirement concerning the playing of the National Anthem. I doubt the Rudd government will have the guts to extend the requirement, but I’d be glad to be proven wrong.
The school I teach at plays Advance Australia Fair, God Save the Queen, and the school’s hymn at almost every assembly (Advance Australia Fair is always played, the other two may be omitted for short assemblies).
