Here’s New York’s chance to get it’s 3rd Governor. Just put Paterson in the slot. The poor guy deserves it.

Why not?

The NY Senate Seat will be held by the Democrats for the next 100 years anyway.

His ego is so massive it would not allow him to be the junior Senator from New York with no seniority.

I doubt his ego could handle it. Then again, Obama won the election, so what the *%^& do I know?

The strippers at scores and the high priced Manhattan call-girls are very excited about now being including in a government stimulus package.

After he abdicated the throne, the Roman emperor Diocletian retired to his estates to indulge in his favorite pasttime of growing his own food. The successors he left in place soon fell out, and a delegation of leading citizens went to Diocletian’s farm to beg him to return and assume power again. Diocletian’s reply was, “What, and give up all this cabbage?”

I suspect Bubba’s response would be similar.

a return to office via his wife Hillary's vacated New York U.S. Senate seat

Nothing like a bit of nepotism to stagnate the political gene pool.

Not a bad article, but the columnist omitted to add that former President Andrew Johnson actually did serve in the Senate (briefly) after leaving the White House.

Well, Governor Patterson is getting pressure from a lot of people wanting to be Senator. Appointing Bill as a caretaker would avoid offending any of them by picking another one.

The problem is that Bill could not be counted on to keep any promise to be just a caretaker.
