Fresh off his runoff victory Tuesday night, Georgia Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss credited Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin with firing up his base.
I can't overstate the impact she had down here, Chambliss said during an interview Wednesday morning on Fox News.
When she walks in a room, folks just explode, he added. And they really did pack the house everywhere we went. She's a dynamic lady, a great administrator, and I think she's got a great future in the Republican Party.
Chambliss said that after watching her campaign on his behalf at several events Monday, he does not see her star status diminishing within the party.
The Republican also thanked John McCain and the other big name Republicans that came to Georgia, but said Palin made the biggest impact.
We need Minority Whips that aren't afraid to use one. :-)
Agreed.......................
“He’ll get the same respect given to President Bush by lefties and the lamestream media.”
I am with on this one all the way!!
He’s stupid,
he’s lazy,
he was “givien” his education etc by foreigners and terrorists.
As a matter of fact, was he even born or was he found under a rock?
He needs to prove where he was born and I want to see those grades that make him the “smartest man who ever stole an election”
Now, what makes folks think we should be proud of having him in the whitehouse??
We should all be wearing black armbands for the duration of his reign.
And if the GOP had more than two neural synapses, it would realize its future lies with folk like Palin.
Pssst, it won't.
You are so right, that she might fight back.
That is one of my complaints about GW, he wouldn’t fight back. He should have been in front of those cameras daily presenting his side of every issue. Remember how often we had to listen to BJClinton?
He thought he could just take the high road and the people would be smart enough to read his actions and not the media’s words.
Well, we have found out how stupid the American people can be-look who they voted for last month.
McCain will give the dems the sixty they need. If he sticks with his own party, he'll be just one among 40 or 41. But, sure if he crosses over, he's a traitor, but the NYT and WAPO will single him out to write glowingly how he's risen above partisan politics, which is something McCain has never been able to resist.
I still think we ended up with McCain because democrats crossed over and decided our candidate for us.
We can’t possibly have that many R’s who thought he was one of us.
And I do think Sarah the Great will fight back; she is from Alaska, a tough place to survive.
In DC, you have to fight fire with fire.
When you are the top dog, you better make sure everyone knows it. When you don’t, they just keep picking and picking at you until you are is the place that GW is in now.
I think he is a fine man, and just too gracious to get in there and fight with the despicable dems in DC.
Sarah? She just might be like a mama bear when and if she gets to DC. I would love to see her run and support her all the way. I think we all need to make plans to go to DC for rallys and really support the next person we think is our kind.
Bill Richardson?
God willing, the GOP will have the ‘nads to stop with the open primary crap in 2012.
And Colt can come out with a Sarah .45 Commemorative model.
Or does a Palin .45 sound better? :-/
This one ranks up there with, "But I didn't inhale."
Is that set by the party or the state?
I have never really paid much attention to it. Now, we need to really stay on top of it and try to get rid of them.
LOL. That’s true. I’m so naive in some areas.
“Wonder why Saxby didnt have McCain instead of Palin.”
He did, earlier on. Palin came in as “The Closer”. :)
I was talking to a staffer with whom I’ve developed a bit of a relationship via phone these last months, he told me the night before Gov. Palin was to appear that they had a 6% solid point lead.
The final tally is 57% Saxby, and 43% Martin.
That’s one helluva closing, I’d say! LOL
Toki, thanks very much for the pings on Palin.
She’s great. I appreciate the updates.
Thank you for reading them!
/hugs
