Secondly, the Church fathers were also, for the most part, also talking about sanctification. However, the Church fathers also frequently had heretical beliefs. Many heretical sects deny the divinity of Christ (I had confused Mormons with 7th Day Adventists earlier in the thread, my apologies. I do not usually debate heresies so I lost track of which is which). They frequently quote Church fathers such as Origin who subscribed to Arianism.
Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven. -- Mathew 7:21For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. -- 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
Please cite the scriptures that talk about becoming a God as a part of sanctification rather than deification & how we really don't become Gods regardless of what the scriptures say.
You throw out terms such as heresy & heretical freely but yet still give no definitive explanation as to why you're right & they are wrong. You basically just say you're right without backing up why. If you know you're correct, how? Stating opinions isn't delineating how you know you're correct. Surely there is a definitive reason to back your beliefs rather than just conjecture & calling people heretical that don't believe as you do.
