The first weekend I got my new albuterol inhaler, I ended up in the ER. I had never been in the hospital for asthma ever before. It did nothing for me at all.

I have to use the inhaler two to three times rather than once in order to get the meds inhaled.

“Why “useless” with the spacer?”

There isn’t enough “ump” to get the inhaled medication into the inhaler in one dose. Then it isn’t aerosolized enough to inhale from the spacer.

I don't know the facts in this since I a not familiar with asthma inhalers, so you might need to do a little info. Yes, this was cut off on the original post for some reason:

Unfortunately, the US made this decision to switch from the CFC’s as part of a world treaty/compact to cut CFC’s. So, even with all of the hollering the FDA would have to have the US ‘break treaty” to change the ruling.

The deaths were caused because an inhaled steroid such as QVar must be used in tandem with the long-acting beta 2 agonists. Used correctly, the drugs save lives and reduce hospitalizations.
