“BTW, I just heard Palin’s third stump speech for Saxby. She’s amazing. She totally freelances off the text with each of her speeches. She knows how to work a crowd and deliver a stump speech better than any politician I’ve ever seen”
I noticed that as well. She was also speaking much more quickly and freely. It really seems like she “free” of the McCain closet and is really being herself now.
So, I thought the libs and media said she couldn’t speak without a teleprompter? I bet she could do almost any speech without one. That is where her journalism experience really helps her.
She’s coming up on CNN live video for her final stump speech. She should be there any minute now.
Cindi Adams confirmed it in this article:
Meantime, that already skinny frame has lost weight. Campaign plane eats are crappy. Snack bars, crackers. Her kids bring their own food. Days go 7 a.m. to midnight, bags picked up 8 a.m. Get on a plane, each trip between one and four hours, then a motorcade, then back for the next run. No time to change. No first class. It's total crunch. She has a photographic memory. Her head is down in the position papers, she blinks twice, never looks up, turns the page, reads some more. Reads, reads, reads. The kids adore her. She's happiest when they're along. Little Piper even has her own fan base and signs autographs. But, on the plane, if one hugs her, she puts her hands up to touch them, never takes eyes off the paper, just keeps reading.
The only time she relaxes is in the car with her family. The shoulders then slump a little, she doesn't seem happy, but, ever a good soldier, she turns it on for the crowds.
Yes, she's gone off the reservation, she feels "trapped," she hates swallowing her own freewheeling thoughts. Her speeches are read and approved by 17 people. She is surrounded by minders whose lot is to control her. She doesn't speak freely. She hunkers down with the only three who make her feel comfortable - Kris Perry, who ran her gubernatorial run, Penny Owen, her Alaska friend from high school who helps with the children, and the Husband.
