The New York Times, the New York Daily News, Newsday, U.S.A Today, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, FOX News and a host of other news organizations recently reported that gun sales across the country increased 10 percent after Barack Obama defeated John McCain. Many of the gun shop owners that were interviewed on camera stated they had never seen sales increase to this level in 15 to 20 years.
Those purchasing guns said they were doing so because of a growing fear that the spiraling economy will force desperate people to commit criminal acts. Others bought them because they believe an Obama Administration would move quickly to ban certain guns or attempt to limit their sales in United States. These are legitimate explanations that warrant serious investigation, but I believe there is one more valid explanation for the phenomenal surge that no one is bothering to discuss: the planned assassination of President Barack Obama.
Strangely, what the news agencies failed to report was that although many purchases involved commonly used handguns, the weapons that were being snatched off the shelves in record numbers were high-powered assault rifles, most notably the AR 15! On "The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric", one of the buyers looked right into the camera and said, "A man's got to protect his home and his property." Okay, here's my question. Who does this fool expect to break into his house? Bigfoot? I'm sorry, but that milk smells spoiled and I'm not buying it! Am I the only one that thinks there is something very, very wrong here?
In my honest opinion, anyone that purchases a high-powered, military-linked assault rifle has an agenda. Period!

That is the sexiest combo i’ve ever seen.
Just bought a Crimson Trace laser sight tonight
for my Ruger.
Anyone else have one? What do you think of it?
Re #116. My son, a shooter, needs a girlfriend, and this one is hot and packing. He’s a combat veteran with the M249.
Perhaps they can get together at a shooting range.
Love at 100 yards?
This woman cannot be a liberal. Beautiful and armed. That’s my kind of girl. Just like my daughter - 357 mag to start).
Who does this fool expect to break into his house?
How about the fact that our new President comes from Gun Control Central in Chicago, a possible philabuster proof Senate if Saxby Chambliss doesn’t win on Tuesday, a US House run by Pelosi, Waxman, McCarthy the anti-gun nuts.
Also, Pres Obama will have the BATF under his control.
Yeah, all we need is a sudden rise in sea level and the Great Lakes that will wash away those blue areas on the coasts and to the south of the lakes. Gotta be quick, though, so the parasites don’t have time to swarm into red areas.
A .22 Hornet between the eyes will kill just as dead as a shotgun slug.
I was very small and very young when my father started teaching me to shoot.
His overwhelming lesson was not the “superiority” of a ‘big caliber’ but the efficiency of a ‘small target’.
His philosophy was and still is, shoot as though you have only one shot.
[’aim small, miss small’]....:)
Propaganda is the key word. The author accuses all, or most all, gun owners of an agenda. Well, the author most certainly has an agenda that his propaganda piece is carefully crafted to promote. Taking your thought a step further, I think the intent of the article is to inspire densely-populated leftist urban areas into thinking that gun owners are cretins and extremists who cannot be trusted with a firearm. It is sowing the seeds of sentiment towards eventually disarming the citizenry, a la Britain.
The term "Clinton-hater(s)" was coined by a TIME magazine ink-stained wretchess as part of the MSM's hate-a-thon against the Republicans that began the day after the 2004 elections (when Newt took over the House).
Look up descriptions of this landmark hate-polemic press campaign on Brent Bozell's Media Research Center site, mrc.com. Bozell warned the Pubbies, but they couldn't get their minds around what was coming down on them, starting with the hate-hate-hate-filled TIME "Man of the Year" cover that they put Newt on. (Bad photo, five o'clock shadow, crooked tie, bags under eyes, and red-and-green Jello treatment to make him look more sallow, tired, and ugly.)
The point of their hate marathon was to secure the reelection of Slick. They went gonzo, no holds barred, and I-hate-Republicans around the clock. It was unbelievable.
So now they appear to be starting in on gun owners the way they did on cigarette owners, as a new "hated class", an "odious class" of perpetually suspicious "perpetrator-wannabe's" whose rights need to be systematically repressed. Preferably with help from the Supreme Court. But if they have to go with only two branches of the Government, they'll do it.
The Houston Chronicle just ran a Sunday spread of stories about evil Houston gun shops and the Zetas in Mexico. Apparently they shop with American Express Platinum cards here in Houston, and then drive right back down to Mexico and shoot housewives and children while white gun-nut Houstonians cheer them on. It's a hate campaign, and it's media-wide. Here it comes.
Yeah, but is sure makes The Messiah seem all “super historically important” and stuff, doesn’t it?
If he somehow dodges his impending nervous breakdown, he’ll be outta there in 4, a la Carter.
Between the “eye twitch” and the already incredibly obvious “premature aging effect” *before* he’s even taken office, I doubt he’ll be able to avoid total mental meltdown for more than 2 years.
He’s NOT ready or qualified and he, above all people, -knows- it.
[he sure picked a bad time to stop smoking]....;-D
High powered AR-15??? It's just a varmint gun!
Yup.
Same guy.
Ironically, the “dumb hicks” of W.MD were scanning the brush for ‘dark, probable Muslims’.
As coincidence would have it, the laptop they found in the car sure enough had many targets in *my* area.
“Hick intuition” convinced us that they would be making their way into the “hills” sooner or later.
[they were caught at the rest stop on South Mountain at the Washington/Frederick counties line]
We got laughed at for that “paranoia”...until their “schedule” was found after their capture.
I read the article a second time and changed my opinion. Please see #118 and #126. I still think the author is a nutter, but that his motivations may run deeper than first impression.
So now they appear to be starting in on gun owners the way they did on cigarette owners, as a new "hated class", an "odious class" of perpetually suspicious "perpetrator-wannabe's" whose rights need to be systematically repressed.
BO could stand in the middle of a million strong crowd of citizens, all of them packing heat, and he could not be in a safer place. He knows it, and so do his cohorts. The crackdown on non- supporters began on the day of the Oklahoma City bombing. Recall 'angry white males' taking their 'anti government' instructions from 'right wing hate radio'. The propaganda will start again, but the article in this post is too dumb to be included therein. My main beef is that intelligent people still argue, via comment boards, with obvious morons like the 'author' here.
Aw....ain’t that just too bad?
I agree, but am still more comfortable with a larger caliber. When a person is facing a deathly threat, they don’t always have the luxury of a shot “between the eyes”. I speak more of encounters with grizzly beras, but still...I’d rather spray .12 ga. shotgun pellets or even a .12 slug, than a .22 any day.
That being said, I do believe that your father was right in his teachings. It is always best to shoot as if this is your only and last bullet.
correction: grizzly beras, should be “grizzly bears”. I’ve never had the misfortune to run across a “beras”. ;)
He has to get done blowing it out his arse first...this jerk has diarrhea of the mouth and the other end...and it smells!
Good thing...beras are very bad critters!...LOL!
We have a varied selection of ‘tools’ here for home protection but I still apply dad’s principles to all of them.
Even though he is a home loader, he still abhorred the wasteful, pointless, noisy spraying of ammo.
I was taught to be frugal and efficient with both my supplies and my aim...:)
[He was a kid during the Depression and wasting *anything* is a cardinal sin to him. I guess that’s stuck with me]
