I suspect that there's a lot of truth to your theory. Women who've had abortions (and more than a few of the men who've paid for them) have so much guilt about their past actions that they react with absolute horror to candidates (e.g., Sarah Palin) who dare to express pro-life views.

I suspect you're essentially right...

..however, only the heart & mind changing influence of surrendering to Christ can overcome the guilt.

A friend of mine at church has 7 living children.....but her first pregnancy was aborted before she became a believer.

She has overcome her guilt....

..not forgotten...

..but it doesn't daily eat at her.

NO!!! Didn’t happen that way for me. After years of silence I finally shared the guilt of my abortion with a friend only to be stunned by the revelation that she too had done the same. And we both couldn’t be stronger Republicans. Don’t want others to go through the living hell of post abortion life.
