Wow, this could have been written by my brother and his wife. Four kids, all home schooled until senior year high school, where they entered the public school system after testing that resulted in their grades being higher than their entire public school class! Year after year, with each of their four children, above average test scores.

All Christian, all serving either in the military or ministry, productive and contributory members of American society.

Hubby and I were discussing this just the other night. Our family is all grown and on their own, but if we were raising them today, I wouldn’t be working outside the home, I’d be schooling my children in the home.

As I see it, we stand accountable to God for our stewardship of the greatest thing He gives us, our children.

Thirty-seven years ago, when our son started to school, we really didn’t have any exposure (or even knowledege of) homeschooling. I wouldn’t have known where to start with curriculum or anything. My husband’s father was on the school board and my in-laws would have had a cow if we’d veered one iota from “the program”. I think we, and the older people had some old timey, nostaligic idea of school, an idea that was long defunct as reality. In retrospect, my school experience in general was pretty destructive to the human psyche. Now, it’s worse.
