I am going to hazard a guess: P-Methamphetamine. Easy to make, cheap, gives the user incredible strength and stamina. Doesn’t stuff up their senses: makes them super-alert. Originally designed for soldiers during wartime.
That was Dextroamphetamine or "Green Hornets" as they were more commonly referred to by the troops. These things would sustain a soldier for about 48 hours before the soldier began to hallucinate and he became more dangerous to his comrades than he was to the enemy.
