Anybody out there ever drink this "beer?" I never had the "pleasure." BTW, Schlitz used to be the number one beer but then committed suicide by putting some sort of additive into its beer to save money. It also changed the taste much to the distaste of it's customers.

Never drank the stuff, PJ. My beer drinking habits changed dramatically from the day I first set foot in Germany in 1977.

I'll drink a domestic brew on occasion, usually Sam Adams or Shiner Bock. During Texas summers, it's just too damn hot to drink my favorite German & European brews. I'm very pleased that Sam Adams brews a light beer.

I don't drink that much nowadays. If I did, I'd buy me one of those Heineken home tap systems (or whatever they call them).

The Long, Slow, Torturous Death of Zima (No more Zima "beer)

Faygs are deeply saddened.

I’ve been meaning to try Zima. I’d heard it was a girly man concoction but I figured I might like the taste. Oh well, it sounds like I didn’t miss anything.

Zima was huge in SoFla around 1991 or so. I remember, as my mom drank it thinking it was non-alcoholic.

Zima gives you wicked hangovers in the morning. And I’m not talking about normal dry heaves or puking and all is well - you’re literally sleeping next to the porcelain throne all day. The ironic thing is, is that Zima tasted great (IMO), like Sprite on steroids, and when you’re out at the clubs like I was back in the 1990s, you just can’t stop drinking it.

Falstaff as teenager, because we got it for free.

Had Zima in High School (10th-11th grade). For some reason it was easier to get. Don’t know why and as teenager you drank what you got your grubby hands on. LOL! Even at that I think we only bought a few six packs. Due to money we usually had Busch Beer and Sky Vodka. Don’t get me started on Miller High Life.
