By the way, I realize that many Germans weren’t churchgoing. However, one might compare the “civic religion” of the 1950’s here (where God was recognized in school, but not really taught) to Nazi-Germany then. Far from the average German being a degenerate loser, he was more than likely an upstanding citizen.

Obama’s “Rule” will drive many more to the bosom of Christ than the marxists will be able to stomach.

It seems that there is more of a "liberal rule" than a an "Obama rule." Obama is simply a very good speaker and reader who has been adopted by Liberals in mass to lead their government. While there are certainly good Christians that support Obama, the entire focus of Liberals is on government applied force. The common denominator of Liberalism is government planning and forcing action. Obama was chosen as the one who could pull enough voters together to win the office.

Your Marxism is showing. Fighting against aggression does not make one an aggressor. The sheer humanity of our actions, supported by every democracy in the world, rid the world of a Hitler in the making.

The Iraqis were under the most vicious of despots. They are a free people today because we were not afraid to go to war in the name of humanity.

Cultural christians are not Biblical christians. There was a vast Biblical Christian conspiracy, modelled by Deitrich Bonheffer, that vigorously and violently opposed Hitler. It is egregious to insist that the Third Reich was nurtured by genuine Christians.

Your entire post is complete nonsense.
Nazism was left wing socialist. It was not supported by any right wing movement.
The conservative movement in this country has been the source, and the only source, of patriotism, Constitutional principles and moral discipline.
2000 tons of yellowcake found in Iraq prove you wrong.
You have come to the wrong place to peddle your socialist sop.

Crossing an ocean to bomb a nation "just in case" they harbor a few terrorists is about as unChristian an act as I can imagine

Here is a link to the Iraq War Resolution.

Note that there are 23 separate "Whereases". I.e., 23 separate reasons for taking action. Recall that it was passed by a Democrat-controlled Senate and the majority of the Democrats voted for it, as well as every Republican.

Recall also that, as to the most serious "Whereas", the presence of WMD was an unquestioned fact on the part of every major intelligence agency and the UN inspectors -- who, upon leaving the country in 1998, had an inventory of the remaining biological warfare agents (which ran into the hundreds of tons).

Further note that some WMD were in fact discovered (though most may have been shipped to Syria). And vast stores of WMD raw materials (550 T of yellowcake,e.g.) and equipment (centrifuges, etc) were also found. While there might be a question about "stockpiles", there can be NO question about either "intent" or "ability".

Moreover, we didn't "cross the ocean". We were already there, remember, being responsible for policing the no-fly zones and exercising our responsibilities in the wake of Gulf War I.

That action had been ended by a truce -- not a treaty of peace. It was Hussein's responsibility to live by the terms of that truce. He did not.

Any President who did not take action to quell this threat after the post-9/11 reality would've been guilty of dereliction of duty.

I don't pretend to know how God might feel about it. But I do know that America's motivation was honorable. And that we removed a truly evil regime and liberated 25 million people.

That would, I suspect, count for something...

Yes we were the aggressor! For God's sake, be honest with yourself for once!

"Supported by every democracy in the world?" - Are you in denial?

Nazism would not have occurred without the ridiculous ultra patriotism that HItler cultivated. That kind of patriotism is dangerous, and I’m sick of the ultra right wing wrapping their religion in my flag.

Only because relevant information was purposely not given to those charged with voting to go to war.

OIL is never an honorable motive. And that was the motive.

Meanwhile, numerous contractors and corporations have gotten rich over the blood of our service men and women and Iraqi men, women, and children.

So, it's their religion. But not yours?

And it's your flag, but not their's?

OIL is never an honorable motive. And that was the motive.

Then, why did we bother to invade Iraq? We could've occupied Kuwait and claimed their oil at much lower expense.

Indeed, we did occupy Kuwait prior to both Gulf Wars. But we didn't take their oil. Why not?

And how come we aren't taking the Iraqi oil, after going to all that trouble? Why are we letting them sell it to all comers?

Indeed, why didn't we just allow drilling in ANWR and offshore? Even more oil, much cheaper to obtain and secure.

Oh, hell, why not invade Canada. They've got even more oil...and nothing resembling a military. Saves all the transportation costs, too.

By the way, your position is transparently partisan. Not to mention completely fatuous.

Interesting. What "relevant information" would that be? And how did the Big Bad Bush contrive to keep it out of the hands of the Democrats? Does this mean that Clinton was a liar, too, when he accused Hussein of harboring WMDs and terrorists and launched a bombing raid?

Oh, and what is your source for this amusing allegation? Daily Kos?

There is plenty of information other than some kooky left wing sites if you want to know the truth, but I’m sure you’ll say they’re all lying or some such defense.
