The fact is that when a child receives a gift, it belongs to them, not the parents. When you take things from kids, you are teaching them that liberals have the right to take things away their entire life. Parents have a responsibility to TEACH children to be charitable and not cling to things. When you allow children to think about what charity means and be actively involved in the process, you are giving them a valuable lesson that will last a lifetime. When you just take their things and tell them that their opinions don’t matter, you are teaching them that socialism is the ultimate power and that freedom means nothing.

I’m really surprised when so-called conservatives totally screw up their kids this way by treating them like they are human garbage instead of taking the time to teach them to be charitable. The fact that those kids wound up getting more stuff to replace what was taken compounds the idea that liberalism is the ultimate power of giving and taking. If you want to teach your kids that way, please keep them away from mine who are being taught values.

Children do not own property. If so.. then they would be running the show. Parents controlling their "property" teaches them respect for authority and protects them.

You must be a kid. If not, your kids are part of the problem. Wait until little privleged Suzy tells you that SHE owns her room and the stash of dope you just found in there. Or maybe you’ll give her those privacy rights.
Wait until she cracks up the car you’ve bought her and they come after you for the damages.

Take it to court. NOTHING belongs to a child except in a liberals mind. You’ll find that out quick enough.

And guess what? Life isn’t fair either. Worrying about little Suzy’s ego has gotten us into the problems we have.

No that’s not the fact. Everything given to child is the property of the parents — that’s the facts. Go look it up!

When a childs "gift" is cluttering up a closet in MY house, and they haven't played with it in almost a year. I just don't tell them, and confiscate it like big government does, and donate it (redistribute the wealth) to a place where other children might find joy in it.

I use my childrens' favorite toys as leverage in behavior modification, and it works just fine. I have 5 children: 19, 16, 11, 6, 4. We all live under the same Christian conservative, self reliant, patriotic roof.

It is no democracy here. 100% Dictatorship.
