I had grandparents who realized their dreams of retirement, went fishing a few times, and died. I SAY I retired, but my idea of being retired is running a business. I have no intention of stopping-It's FUN! Sure, after taxes and health insurance, there is not a lot of money left over, but what else would I do?? Cruise for bluehairs at bingo games? I am too restless to fish, terrible at golf, and hardly drink, hate television, and don't read the print media. And being busy and active IS a fountain of youth. Maybe someday I'll drop dead trailbiking. FINE! I'll take that over a rest home any day.
