I for one, as a taxpayer, have no desire to pay $44,000 per year for this piece of human offal to rot in jail if he is convicted. My heart goes out to this poor family.

I totally agree with you. I hate the fact my state did away with the death penalty. I don't see any reason for keeping killers on death row. The money spent keeping these SOB's alive is a waste. Plus I think if more killers were put to death by hanging maybe our death rate would go down ..... (I want to believe that)

I believe there are statistics to back that up. I don't have them at my fingertips, but I have read them.
