It appears from all available evidence that the final attack was launched from the sea. However, the terrorists must have scouted the areas and decided on targets. Also, there is information circulating that local supporters joined them when they came from the boats and also provided more ammo and food.
But as you know, the fog of war is thick and we will have to wait until things have calmed down to get more reliable information.
